What is one of your favorite things that you’ve been able to do with your money?
Hands down: our MicroPlace account. What an impact it’s had on us!
MicroPlace (www.microplace.com) is an online brokerage for microfinance investments. Think: Schwab for microfinance. The investments operate much like a CD — we lend money for a period of time, and upon maturity, we recycle the proceeds into a new investment.
We’ve made contributing to this account a part of our annual charitable giving and in lieu of gifts to one another. We’ve also gifted investments as wedding and Christmas presents, choosing what might have personal meaning to the recipient.
What I love about MicroPlace is how easy they make it to magnify the impact of our money.
