If your father finished one plate at dinner, was starving for a second, and said nothing, you would scold him for being too self-reliant. Yet, when financial troubles are starving you of life’s happiness, often you do the same. Like Sandra Bullock in 28 Days, many of us need to wear a sign saying, “Confront me if I don’t ask for help” especially when it comes to financial matters.
Finances are complicated. We have multiple bank accounts, brokerage accounts, retirement plans… and the list goes on. All the complication can be stifling. Luckily though, financial planners see complication as opportunity. Tax and retirement planning are a financial planner’s bread and butter. When it comes to financial needs especially, don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Whether it’s planning for retirement or finding the money to pay off debt, seeking a second opinion on your finances is a great idea. This kitten needed help finding the money to buy a house. She partnered with her local financial planner and set up a better budget, opened a brokerage account, and planned the course from renting to home owning.
