What is one of your favorite things that you’ve been able to do with your money?

One of my favorite things I’ve been able to do with my money is spend half my life in the city and half in the country. In 2007, after a three-year search, we bought the country land, which is a three-hour drive from our Tampa home. In 2008, my husband completed his dream of building a house. To his shock, I liked being there so much that I changed my city office hours to 2 1/2 days a week.

Now I spend Friday through Monday sunrises in my rocking chair, sipping coffee and watching the fog unveil each day. It inspired a new title for my monthly newsletter column: “View from the Porch.”
